City EDS will travel to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Youth League Round of 16.
The EDS are breaking new ground in Europe and have never met the Spanish side at this level before.
Atletico are sure to provide a tough test for Patrick Vieira's men - they won four of their matches and were unbeaten at home in the group stages.
City qualified for the knock out rounds with 11 points, winning three of their matches and scoring the most goals of any side in Group D. Marcos Lopes and Devante Cole have each scored on five occasions, and are tied at the top of the competition’s goalscoring charts.
Now separated from its senior equivalent, the format for the knock out stages of the inaugural year of the UEFA Youth League is single-leg ties, meaning Atletico receive home advantage as group winners. Once the date and time is confirmed, we'll have all the details on mcfc.co.uk.
Should the young Blues emerge victorious from the clash with Atletico, they will face either Benfica or Austria Vienna in the quarter finals.
A tie with the Portuguese side would mean a reunion for Lopes, who plied his trade at Benfica until his switch to City in 2011.
The semi-finals and final of the competition will be held at a four day tournament in Nyon, Switzerland.
The full draw is as follows:
Barcelona v FC Copenhagen
CSKA Moscow v Paris Saint Germain
Atletico Madrid v Manchester City
Chelsea v AC Milan
Real Madrid v Napoli
Benfica v Austria Vienna
Arsenal v Shakhtar Donetsk
Real Sociedad v Schalke
