Megan Campbell and Keira Walsh will miss the opening months of Manchester City Women's season, having both sustained long-term injuries.

The Blues kick-off the new campaign with an FA Women's Cup clash at Liverpool this evening, and will be without their new defensive recruit and midfield starlet, after the pair suffered ankle knocks on international duty.

Campbell sustained her injury whilst representing the Republic of Ireland, and will require approximately two months of rehabilitation.

Walsh was on duty with England's under-19s side when she sustained an injury to her right ankle. The youngster will require surgery and approximately four to five months of rehabilitation.
