City’s Under-18s recorded their third consecutive draw against a strong Liverpool side at Platt Lane on Saturday.
Goals from Joan Angel Roman and top-scorer Harry Bunn ensured that the youngsters took a share of the spoils.
The early stages were dominated by the away side, with only a stunning Erik Johansen save from a point-blank header keeping the scores level.
The Blues almost doubled their lead as Paul Clowes volleyed just wide from a Roman corner.
A slow start to the second-half cost City dear, as Liverpool equalised through a volley from the edge of the area by Rodden which left the impressive Johansen helpless.
Good interplay down the right-wing gave City the chance to regain the lead, but Alex Henshall fired Drury’s cross over the top.
A lack of concentration from the Blues allowed Emilsson a free shot on goal, which he duly despatched from 15 yards out, giving Liverpool the advantage.
At this point the young Blues started to fight back, and equalised with ten minutes left on the clock. A superb one touch passing move found Harry Bunn free, who slotted it in off the post.
Both teams had half-chances in the dying moments, but failed to convert them, which meant a fair result for the two sides.
