City's Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw by their Barnsley counterparts at Platt Lane this morning.
Adam Drury gave the Blues the lead on 28 minutes with a cracking shot from more than 25 yards out, but couldn't add to their lead before the break against a lively Barnsley side.
The visitors levelled on 52 minutes, but City should have been awarded a penlalty just six minutes later when Bradley Robinson was clearly fouled in the box. There were no further goals and both teams had settled for a point. The Blues remain second in the table and are now four points adrift of leaders Everton.
