Daniel Cousin puts the Tigers ahead before a Stephen Ireland double puts the Blues 2-1 up at the break. Former Blue Giovanni cracks home a deflected free-kick on the hour to earn Phil Brown’s side a draw at a packed KC Stadium.

England return to Maine Road for a World Cup qualifier after a three-year absence to thrash Ireland 9-2 in front of a crowd of 69,762. The goals are scored by Rowley (4), Pearson (2), Mortensen (2) and Froggatt.
