Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history.
Saturday 31st October 1981
Dennis Tueart’s goal gives City a hard-fought victory over Everton at Goodison Park. In a feisty encounter, four City players are booked and Joe Corrigan is awarded man-of-the match honours for a series of brave saves. Tueart’s effort ends a run of four games without a goal and pushes the Blues up to 11th in the table.
Saturday 31st October 1998
For a player with such a fearsome reputation, it’s perhaps fitting that new loan signing Andy Morrison should score the winner against Colchester United on his Halloween debut. Morrison is an instant hero with the Blues’ fans who immediately tap into his passion and determination, leading to chants of ‘Sign him up!’ from the terraces.
