Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history.
Saturday 8 October 1994
City and Nottingham Forest share a six-goal thriller at Maine Road. The Blues, managed by Brian Horton, were in a rich vein of scoring at home but it was Stan Collymore who found the net first giving Forest a 1-0 lead after 22 minutes.
Niall Quinn levelled the scores four minutes before the break but Andy Dibble then was credited with an own goal on 51 minutes to restore Forest's lead. In a ding-dong battle, Quinn made it 2-2 just three minutes later and Steve Lomas put the hosts 3-2 up just before the hour.
City looked set for a hard-earned three points until former Runcorn winger Ian Woan equalised a minute into added time to make it 3-3 and earn Forest a point.
