City finally ends its JJB Stadium hoodoo by defeating Wigan Athletic 2-0 thanks to goals from Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure.
A couple of wonderful saves from Joe Hart, now the team's no.1 after disposing Shay Given, also play a key role in preserving the Blues' clean sheet.
The result helps City to recover from a tricky start to their Premier League season and paves the way for City's first season in the Champions League.

Manager’s son Kevin Bond makes his City debut away to Birmingham but ends up on the losing side as the Blues turn in an abject display in a 3-0 defeat at St Andrew’s – City’s first defeat of the season and a morale-sapping loss to a team who will struggle all season.
