City skipper Richard Dunne has been rewarded for some outstanding performances over the last month by being named as the Thomas Cook Player of the Month for December.
Dunne has been at the heart of the run that has seen the Blues go unbeaten since the defeat to Spurs in the Carling Cup, with the watertight defence not conceding any goals at all in the last three matches.
Arguably his best performance came in the draw with Liverpool, when as the last line of defence he cleared Dirk Kuyt’s parried header out from underneath his crossbar as the ball dropped goalwards.
Left-winger Karl Moore is the reserve Player of the Month, while David Ball takes the Academy award.
Previous winners of the senior award this season are Dietmar Hamann (for August & September), Elano and Vedran Corluka.
