Adam Johnson believes Arsenal will bring out the best of the Blues in a Saturday night special.

Having shaken off the misery of the last second derby defeat, Johnson believes a trip to the Gunners' stronghold is the perfect game in which to advertise City’s Euro credentials.

The Blues have already beaten Arsenal twice this term and with three wins and two draws from the last five Premier League away trips – including victories in the capital at Chelsea and Fulham – there is no sign of any travel sickness.

“We have shown already at United, Liverpool and Chelsea that we can go away and match the sides usually up at the top,” noted the World Cup hopeful.

We get more space to play against the better sides and that suits us. We have the pace and skill to exploit that

“Arsenal have had back-to-back defeats which is not like them and perhaps we will catch them when they are cold or with their heads down and have a few players missing but whatever their frame of mind we know it will be tough.”

With Villa and Liverpool closing in to make the race for fourth spot ever more intense, Johnson is sure that the picture will still not be much clearer by Sunday morning.

“Nothing will be decided this weekend,” ventured the latest recipient of the Etihad player of the month prize. “There is a lot of football yet to be played. The make or break games are likely to be when Villa and Tottenham come to our place.

“There will be chopping and changing before then but the one thing that is for sure is that if we win our final four games then we will finish fourth!

“No one can complain that it is not exciting least of all me. From playing for a Championship play-off place I am playing for a Champions League play-off place.

“I’d rather it be sewn up but there are a lot of really good teams in the Premier League and there are likely to be twists and turns aplenty over the final two weeks.”
