Roberto Mancini declared himself very satisfied with how a much-altered Manchester City side secured first place in their Europa League group by drawing with Juventus.
Jo's goal in the 77th minute cancelled out Gianetti's first half strike and nudged City back into the top spot ahead of Lech Poznan, who won in Salzburg, with the draw for the knock-out stages to be made on Friday.
"I am delighted, because that was what we wanted before the game," said Mancini. "I am happy with the result, but especially I am happy for the players with the way they played.
"We should have scored in the first half rather than find ourselves behind, but that's football. We deserved the draw, and I am pleased for Jo. He has played well, and took his chance to score when we needed it."
Thoughts now turn to the visit of Everton on Monday as City look to extend their nine-game unbeaten run, and Mancini added:
"Everton will be tough, but we must continue in the way we have been going. We needed time because we had so many new players, and we can still improve in many areas of our game. Now we must focus on what happens in the league."
