City can confirm that the Carling Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion will take place at the Hawthorns on Wednesday, September 22 with an 8pm kick-off.

The game is a repeat of the 1970 League Cup final at Wembley which the Blues won 2-1 after extra time thanks to goals from defenders Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe.
