Pablo Zabaleta, a surprise contender for City’s Player of the Year, says he and his team-mates can’t see beyond West Ham in their quest to make history.
The Blues will to take advantage of the weekend fixtures between Chelsea and Spurs at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal's clash with United by claiming maximum points against the Hammers.
With Avram Grant's rock-bottom side equally desperate for points, Zaba believes City cannot take their eye off ther ball.
“We have five league games left and the final of the FA Cup so we have a great chance to do well in both competitions,” he said. “We need to try to keep things strong because everyone is excited, but the fact is we’ve achieved nothing yet.
"West Ham is our only concern at the moment and we need to beat them and get three points.”
Zabaleta recovered from the X-rated tackle Paul Scholes made on him at Wembley to resume his place in defence at Blackburn and is looking forward to taking on West Ham on Sunday
It was a huge victory for us at Blackburn because we knew it was a great chance to go four points clear of Tottenham
"We did a good job and now we need to follow it up by winning on Sunday.”
There is also better news about Pablo’s father Jorge, who is making good progress following a serious car crash in March and the popular City defender was keen to show his appreciation for the support the Blues’ fans have shown him and his family.
“I went back to Argentina to support my family, my brothers, but when my father started to get better I decided to come back to be with the team,” he said.
“I have to say thank you to the City fans because many of them followed me on Twitter and left some great Tweets of support to me and my family,” he said.
“They have been asking how my father is doing, so I have to thank them for that. What I can say is that my brother told me when we played the semi-final against United, my dad was in bed and watching the game on TV.
“When we won he was very happy and had a smile on his face. Maybe that will make his recovery much quicker.”
