Roberto Mancini has sent chills down the spines of Premier League defenders by declaring that Sergio Aguero is not yet fully fit.

The Argentine star sprang off the bench against Swansea and immediately wrought havoc scoring twice and making a third as the Blues kicked off their title campaign in spectacular fashion with a 4-0 hammering of newly promoted Swansea.

But impressed as he was Mancini still thinks there is more to come from his record signing.

“It was a perfect start for us and that was important after the way we lost the Community Shield,” declared the manager.

This win has not sent a message but it was an important one for us

“What is also important is that the strikers got amongst the goals. What Sergio Aguero achieved did not surprise me.

“He is a fantastic striker. However, he can get better than he showed against Swansea. I am sure of that. He is not yet 100% fit. He only has ten days training with us and he will get better.”

Aguero and Silva

With Mario Balotelli a spectator from the bench and Carlos Tevez not in the squad and still a City player, Mancini has an abundance of attacking riches from which to choose and he believes they are all adaptable.

“Aguero could play with Tevez or any of the other strikers,” he said.

“And the same goes for the rest of them. They are all good players and interchangeable. They can play in all combination.

“Carlos at this moment is still our player and maybe he will be available for the game at Bolton!”

Mancini will be hoping the same goes for Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong who exited the game early with a foot injury and left the Etihad Stadium wearing a protective boot.

Nigel In Pain

“It is too early to say how Nigel will be but I am hoping it is just an impact injury and will be clear for the weekend but we will have him checked out tomorrow,” he concluded.
