Roberto Mancini admitted he had one eye on the Wembley clash with United after the Blues strolled to glory in the inaugural Dublin Super Cup.

Two facile wins over an Irish League select team and Inter Milan landed City the silverware but the boss clearly has his sights set on better things in the coming weeks.

Speaking after goals from Mario BalotelliEdin Dzeko and Adam Johnson sealed a win over his former club, Mancini said he was looking for improved concentration and performance from his men.

“It has been a good weekend but I hope next weekend is too,” he smiled as he looked forward to another capital clash with the neighbours following on from last season’s FA Cup semi-final.

“Two games in two days is very difficult but most of the players got some more time on the pitch and that is important.”

Unlike during the side’s last outing in North America, Mancini had nothing but praise for scorer Balotelli and hinted that new boy Sergio Aguero would make his bow in the Manchester derby.

Mario played like he should play every game. He has class, he has technique - he has everything

“I just want him to concentrate more and I want the whole team to do that. They have to do because this year will be difficult because we have to improve on last year which was very good.

“Sergio’s task this week is to recover. He played in the Copa America which only finished two weeks ago so he will train with us but the main aim is to help him recover his strength and be ready to play a part on the pitch next Sunday.”
