One goal suits me, says happy Mancini

Roberto Mancini savoured his first trophy for City and insisted he would take 1-0 victories for ever more after that scoreline landed the club's first FA Cup in 42 years.

Yaya Toure, who scored the single goal that settled the semi-final, returned to Wembley for the second-half winner that condemned battling Stoke to Final defeat.

Mancini, with fourth place in the bag, said: "I'd like to win every game 1-0! If we don't concede a goal, and then always score one goal ourselves, we will be successful. But it's impossible.

"If you don't play well you don't win, you can't win. So if we win this trophy and get fourth place it's because we played well - not always, but overall we've had a fantastic season.

"Our supporters have had to wait for many years, but I think in one week we have changed things. We want to try to get third position if possible. We have another two games. Then we'll see for next year."

Mancini, who won the Italian Cup at each club he managed, said: "I feel very good. I used to watch the FA Cup Final on TV when I was young, now we have won it. I am very proud.

"I'm happy. Congratulations to all my players because I think that this afternoon they played a fantastic game. We deserved to score in the first half but were really unlucky.

We always had the game under control, but in football if you don't score then anything can happen at any moment

"Yaya is a fantastic player but it wasn't only about Yaya. It was all the players - and those who didn't play today - who helped us win this trophy."

Mancini starts the chase for third place on Tuesday night - at home to Stoke. Arsenal, who play Aston Villa at The Emirates tomorrow, are two points ahead with two games left.
