Season-long loan deal for defender.
Steve McClaren will manage the Belgian at the club that finished sixth in last season’s Eredivisie.
The 21-year old featured in pre-season for the City first team on their tours of Austria and the Far East, playing against Arsenal, Malaysia and Besiktas.
Boyata made 14 appearances on loan at Bolton Wanderers last season, getting on the scoresheet with a consolation goal in their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea in September 2011.
Ryan McGivern has also completed a six month loan switch on transfer deadline day – with the Northern Irish defender joining Hibernian until January. The 22-year old made 36 appearances in the Championship on loan with Crystal Palace and Bristol City last season.
The defender last featured for the Elite Development Squad in their 4-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Etihad Stadium on Friday 24 August.
McGivern will be on loan until 21 January, Boyata will return to Manchester next summer.
Everyone at the club would like to wish the pair well at their respective clubs.
