Yaya and Kolo Toure are through to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations thanks to Ivory Coast's workmanlike 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso.

The Blues brothers helped keep alive their dream of a cup and league double as Chelsea's Salamon Kalou and an own goal in Malabo eased the Elephants into the last eight.

Ivory Coast still have to face Angola but the Group B leaders and tournament favourites are now guaranteed a shot at the semi-finals having beaten Sudan 1-0 in their opener.

They have yet to show their best form, and even Kalou's 16th-minute striker failed to inspire them, but in the absence of such rivals as Egypt, Ivory Coast look the team to beat.

The 1992 champions, who also feature Didier Drogba and Gervinho as well as Yaya and Kolo, needed an 82nd-minute Bakary Kone blooper to join Equatorial Guinea in the quarters.

The co-hosts made a mockery of their FIFA ranking of 151 by sinking fancied Senegal, who had already slumped 2-1 against Zambia and so crashed out of the competition.

Fellow co-hosts Gabon aim to join Equatorial Guinea and Ivory Coast in the knockout stages by beating Morocco in Libreville to claim their passage from Group C ahead of Tunisia.
