Window Shopping: Day Three

Only three days into the January transfer window and already the Blues have been linked with numerous stellar talents around the globe.

Daniele De Rossi seems to be at the top of the tree, with suggestions in some of today’s media outlets that his current club Roma are set to offer him a £160,000 per week deal in order to keep him in Italy.

This one could rumble on for the length of the window, but if true, it suggests the Serie A outfit feel there is a very real chance they may lose their star midfielder if they don’t act quickly.

Talking of sagas, the Carlos Tevez to AC Milan story shows no signs of ending anytime soon. The latest instalment suggests Milan want to offload Alexandre Pato to finance a deal for Tevez AND Mario Balotelli!

Paper talk, probably and Milan vice president Adriano Galliani is quoted in The Sun a saying: “The negotiations are very much alive. Manchester insists a loan with an obligation to buy and we insist on a loan with the right to buy.”

If true, it seems like there is a long way to go before any agreement is reached.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggests the Blues are interested in a Real Madrid ‘double swoop’ – to lend a familiar tabloid phrase.

They report: "Manchester City are showing interest in Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol.

"The Spain international can play central defence and defensive midfield and Roberto Mancini wants quality cover for Kolo and Yaya Toure during the African Nations Cup.

"The 26-year-old is surplus to requirements at Real and wants to play to have a chance of making his country's European Championship squad. City have a good relationship with the Spaniards.

"They are also hopeful of pushing through their proposed £5million deal for Real's 15-year-old Jose Angel Pozo.”

There will be more Window Shopping updates tomorrow.
