Not a ball in sight this morning as pre-season got under way beneath a leaden, brooding Austrian sky still heavy with rain clouds.
A special marquee has been erected behind one of the goals and filled with gym equipment and so it was that to the musical accompaniment of Oasis, The Killers, Scissor Sisters, and The Jam that work commenced.
Forty-five minutes of strength, agility and flexibility drills were the norm under the watchful eye of the sports science and physiotherapy departments.
Then there was a brief sojourn outside for ten minutes or so of hurdling exercises with fitness coach Ivan Carminati before Yaya stopped off to talk to web journalist David Clayton for the first of his daily diary pieces that you can read here for the rest of the tour.
A second group of players including Argentine internationals Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta arrived half an hour after the first group and began their first session. When Kompany and co departed Tevez stayed behind for some additional work with Ivan.
The third group mainly containing younger players and those on trial with the Blues were last to the training ground and an hour later back in the mini bus for the five minute journey to the Hotel Klosterbrau for a noon lunch.
Sleep is the order of the afternoon for players who must refuel, rest and recuperate in the proper manner before a 5pm second session - this time on the pitch. However, Kompany stopped by for a chat with citytv and some of younger players has nutrition and blood tests.
The training camp is closed to the media and the public but mcfc.co.uk has exclusive access.
