Carrington will be a quiet place for the next few days, as eleven first team players have joined up with their national sides for the midweek friendly fixtures.
The England trio of Joe Hart, James Milner and Joleon Lescott have an exciting matchup with Brazil to look forward to at Wembley, which also minimises travelling time for the Blues’ contingent.
City’s furthest traveller this week is David Silva, the only player heading outside Europe, who is part of the Spain squad to face Uruguay in Qatar.
Argentina face Sweden in Stockholm, and both Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta have received their expected callups.
Serbian pair Matija Nastasic and Aleksandar Kolarov are off to Cyprus for their friendly, and Edin Dzeko is heading to the Slovenian capital Ljubljana with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
There is also action for Gael Clichy in France against Germany, and Romanian Costel Pantilimon has joined the squad to face Australia in Malaga, Spain.
Elsewhere, Yaya and Kolo Toure, along with Abdul Razak, are now on their way home from the Africa Cup of Nations after the Ivory Coast suffered a quarter final loss to Nigeria.
Two members of the Elite Development Squad also received call ups for international action. Eirik Johansen is off to Turkey with the Norwegian Under 21s, while Karim Rekik has been selected for the Netherlands Under 19 squad to face Scotland.
