Ghanaian striker Godsway Donyoh has signed for City from the Right to Dream Academy.
Donyoh has immediately joined Djurgårdens IF on loan for the rest of 2013, continuing the relationship between City and the Stockholm club.
Godsway has been training with the Swedish side’s first-team and it’s now been confirmed that the decision has been taken for the 18-year old forward to continue his footballing education in the Allsvenskan league.
“This is a player we quickly took a liking to,” said Djurgårdens manager Magnus Pehrsson.
“I am happy for our relationship with Manchester City which resulted in a loan which hopefully make our team better.
“The combination that Donyoh is a talented player who fits into our style of play and that Manchester City believes in him makes him an interesting addition to our squad.”
This relationship between City and the seven-time Swedish champions began last year when City Development Director Patrick Vieira and Scouting and Recruitment Operations Manager Fergal Harkin visited the club.
Vieira and Harkin’s visit was followed by Djurgårdens assistant coach Jordi Gonzalez and youth players Marijan Cosic and Christian Rubio Sivodedov making the journey over to Manchester to visit the Premier League champions.
The Right to Dream Academy is a registered charity that has been providing underprivileged Ghanaian footballers with the opportunity for elite training programmes, international education, personal development and leadership philosophy since 2000.
