Emyr Huws has every reason to be enjoying life on loan in the Championship.

City’s Welsh midfielder has taken part in all 180 minutes of the two games Lee Clark’s men have played since he joined at the end of January and he’s winning rave reviews.

His latest contribution came in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic at the Valley which lifts the Blues up to 18th place in the table.

Huws set up the opening goal for Federico Macheda and received effusive praise from his manager for the start he’s made to life in the Midlands.

“We’ve got the aerial ability, so you need the delivery - the (free-kick) cross for me summed up Emyr’s performance, I thought he was outstanding,” Clark asserted.

“What a player. The two games he has had for us, outstanding."

“I understood, when I had the conversation with Patrick Vieira about the Manchester City boys, that he rated them very, very highly - and I can see why. They have got such high hopes for both of them. But Emyr, in his two games, wow - different class.”

Emyr also revealed that he is enjoying his experience at St Andrews and that the only pressure he feels comes from within.

“The manager has asked me to do what I have been doing at Man City: feel no pressure, do what I do, play my game. Keep performing well,” the 20-year old reflected.

"That's what I will try and hopefully do. It was always the next step for me, just to play some games in the Championship and do well and go on from there.”

Fellow City midfielder Albert Rusnak was an unused substitute for the game but will hope to be involved alongside Emyr in Tuesday night’s game against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Elsewhere, EDS midfielder George Evans was involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Valley Parade for Crewe.

George was on the field for 89 minutes for the Railwaymen but he will have been disappointed to only come back from Yorkshire with a point after a late equaliser from Bradford.

Crewe are only two points above the League One drop zone, so will be hoping to pick up maximum points at home to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Evans took to Twitter after the match to share his feelings.

"Tough game in tough conditions always good to get a point away from home gutted we didn't take all 3! great performance from the lads."

Winger Scott Sinclair came on at the break in West Brom’s clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday but he couldn’t inspire his team to reverse the 2-0 half-time deficit, as Pepe Mel's side eventually went down 3-1.

The Baggies slipped into the relegation zone after wins for Swansea, Palace and West Ham but there are sure to be more twists and turns in this incredibly tight fight for survival at the bottom of the Premier League.

Staying in the Premier League, John Guidetti did get off the bench during Stoke City’s 2-2 draw with Southampton at St Mary’s but he didn’t have enough time to influence the game, coming on in the 84th minute.

The Potters take on Swansea City on Wednesday night in a match the Swedish striker will be hoping to make an impact in.

Since moving to the Britannia Stadium, the 21-year old has only had 17 minutes spread over three substitute appearances on the field to impress.

Finally in England, Everton’s top four aspirations took another hit with their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane in a fixture which saw Gareth Barry make his 20th Premier League outing for the Toffees.

Roberto Martinez's side are now five points behind Liverpool in the race for the final UEFA Champions League berth.

Overseas, Dutch defender Karim Rekik was suspended for PSV’s 3-2 win over Twente.

City v Sunderland: Wednesday 12 February

City take on Sunderland in the Premier League on Wednesday 12 February in what will be a dress rehearsal for the Capital One Cup Final in March.

Can the Blues avenge the Stadium of Light defeat earlier this season? A night match under the lights at the Etihad and a preview of the forthcoming final - demand is expected to be high as Manuel Pellegrini's side attempt to continue their incredible run.
