Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that striker Sergio Aguero will be out for a month.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Monday night's game against Chelsea, Pellegrini declared that Aguero had been seen by the doctor and the diagnosis was four weeks out on the sidelines for the striker.

"The injuries are Samir Nasri, Javi Garcia and Sergio Aguero," Pellegrini stated. "The doctor has seen Aguero and he will be out for a month.

"It will be difficult because he is a top player for us but we have the players to replace him. He has just come back from injury. Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko replaced him then and Stevan Jovetic can now."

As the clock ticked down on transfer deadline day, Pellegrini was quizzed on potential arrivals and departures but remained coy on any activity.

"For the moment, there is no transfer news. There may be business but I have no news at the moment."

The Chilean was also asked about his thoughts ahead of Monday's visit of Chelsea and said that he felt the game was worth six points.

"The game against Chelsea is very important for both teams," he declared. "Arsenal and Chelsea are both having a good season. Just because they have dropped points does not mean they are weaker.

"Whatever happens in the game, the season is not over. There are still 42 points to play for.

"At the moment, we are not thinking about titles. We are thinking about improving and winning every game."

Discussing the comments in the media of City being the best team in the world, Pellegrini remained humble.

"I don’t think we are the best team in the planet," he opposed. "But if we play exactly the way we did against Tottenham, we are a very good team."
