Belgium are through to the final 16 of the World Cup following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Russia.
The Red Devils were far from their best and should have perhaps been behind at the break after Alex Kokorin missed a terific chance after 44 minutes - earlier in the half Russia were also denied a clear penalty, with the referee well-placed to see what was a poor challenge.
Vincent Kompany, who was doubtful before kick-off after a slight knock in training, was his usual commanding self at the back in a game of few chances at the Maracana.
Apart from Kevin Mirallas hitting the post six minutes from time, the match looked set for a goalless draw, but on 88 minutes, substitute Divock Origi swept home Eden Hazard's cross - almost taking the ball of Kompany's foot - to send Belgium through as group winners.
Russia must now win their final game against Alegria to have any chance of qualifying for the next phase.
