There was yet more good news for two City players on the afternoon after the night before.

Joe Hart and James Milner have been named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the 2014 World Cup.

Milner was used on eight occasions in qualifying for the tournament, while Hart was an ever-present, completing all 900 minutes in England’s table-topping campaign.

Elsewhere, there was room for Ross Barkley, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Rickie Lambert in Hodgson’s 23.

We’ll have more updates on the City players heading for South America this summer as and when the squads are announced.
