Sergio Aguero has already written his name into Manchester City folklore with his goal exploits over the years, but now Kun is closing in on a number of Club records that will further cement his status.

His header against Leicester last weekend meant he now has scored 125 goals for the Blues in all competitions, putting him joint 11th in our all-time list.

His 18 goals this campaign has seen him move from 15th spot, overtaking Dennis Tueart, Neil Young and Alex Herd before drawing level with Horace Barnes.

Barnes took 235 appearances to reach the 125-goal mark for City while Sergio has taken just 189 matches, 30 of which were as a substitute.

With the 200 appearance and 100 Premier League milestones in reach this season, Sergio – with 18 goals from 23 starts this campaign – appears to be going from strength to strength

...Aguero #10..

The Argentina star now has a couple more notable achievements in his sights as the season progresses.

Five more goals will see him enter the MCFC top 10 goal-scorers of all time and if he can get another seven this season, Kun will rise to eighth in the list.

He is capable of scoring a lot of goals very quickly, of course – ask Newcastle United after his five-goal haul against Magpies last October that set all kinds of new Club records – but it would be a big ask to score the 14 goals that would be needed to catch seventh-placed Tommy Browell on 139.

Next season, however, Aguero will have other illustrious names he will be looking to overhaul with Francis Lee on 143, Billy Meredith on 151 and then Joe Hayes and Colin Bell both on 152.

There would only be Tommy Johnson (166) and Eric Brook (178) to catch thereafter for Kun to be crowned the greatest goal-scorer City have ever had, though few doubt he is the best striker to ever where a sky blue jersey.

Sergio

On league goals alone,  Sergio is now level with Irvine Thornley on 92 in joint 13th position – a place in the top 10 is still a way off with another 20 goals needed to draw level with tenth-placed Francis Lee.

Brook again leads the way with 159 and Kun would need two solid campaigns of 25 goals-plus – something he is easily capable of.

Kun’s record of 92 Premier League goals in just 120 starts is testament the Argentine’s prowess in front of goal and his status among City fans who, understandably, idolise him.

Now, having been named Barclays Player of the Month (his third in total) and the Etihad Player of the Month (sixth overall) for his exploits in January, can Sergio add another Golden Boot award to his sizeable personal collection?

Here's hoping...
