In what turned out to be an historic weekend for City's academy, there were mixed results for our loanees.

While two of our loan rangers were on the scoresheet and others impressed, there was bad news for Bruno Zuculini, who suffered a broken metatarsal and has returned to Manchester.

The 22-year-old only joined Greek outfit AEK Athens three weeks ago and sustained the injury in training. We wish him a speedy recovery.

In brighter news, both Divine Naah and debutant Enes Unal found the net for NEC Breda in their 5-0 triumph over Fortuna Sittard.

Elsewhere, Patrick Roberts made his senior debut for Celtic, coming on as a substitute for Gary Mackay-Steven.

The winger almost marked his first appearance for the Bhoys first-team with a goal but saw his shot blocked. He did have a foot in his side's third goal though, executing a nifty flick to Scott Allan. The ball then found its way to Leigh Griffiths, who drilled into the bottom corner.

South of the border, goalkeeper Ian Lawlor earned praise from the Bury supporters following Saturday's 5-2 win over Colchester. The shot-stopper produced a fine stop when the Shakers were 2-0 down and the home side spurred to turn the game on its head.

In the division above, Shay Facey was not included in the Rotherham squad which fell to a 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Meanwhile, over in Holland, Jack Byrne completed 90 minutes of Cambuur's trip to FC Twente, but couldn't prevent his side from falling to a 3-0 defeat.

Thomas Agyepong was named on the bench for the hosts but did not feature.

In France, Seko Fofana and Bastia saw their Ligue 1 clash against Nantes postponed due to a threat of political violence. The game will be played on 9 March.

Meanwhile, Yaw Yeboah was not involved as Lille secured a 1-0 win over Lyon.

Elsewhere, in Spain, none of City's loanees featured for Girona in their 1-1 draw with Real Oviedo, but there was some good news as Pablo Maffeo received a call-up to the Spain under-19s squad for their upcoming encounter with Serbia.

Congratulations, Pablo!

In other news, Jason Denayer was an unused substitute in Galatasaray's win over Trabzonspor - as was Olivier Ntcham for Genoa in their 2-1 victory against Udinese.

Finally, Anthony Caceres missed Melbourne City's victory over the Central Coast Mariners through suspension.
