Several City youngsters have been in action all over Europe as we catch up with our players on loan...

Shay Facey had mixed fortunes in a busy few days for Rotherham in the Championship. The defender played 75 minutes of the Millers’ 2-0 win over high-flying Brighton last Tuesday, but he was brought back down to Earth with a bump on Saturday when he was booked during their 3-0 defeat at home to QPR.

Ian Lawlor made his first League One start for Bury, following on from his debut for the Shakers in the FA Cup. Sadly the 21-year-old goalkeeper was on the losing side with Bury slipping to a 3-2 defeat at home to Walsall, and he picked up a yellow card in the process.

He could have faced fellow City loanee George Evans, but the midfielder was recalled from his spell with the West Midlands club on Saturday. He scored four goals in 16 outings in all competitions, and the tweet below was fairly typical of how many grateful Saddlers fans felt about the 21-year-old - who also watched the win over Bury from the away end!

Looking outside the UK, Bastia’s 1-0 win over Montpelier in France’s Ligue 1 ended abruptly for midfielder Seko Fofana, who was sent off with 25 minutes remaining.

Defender Jason Denayer was back in action for Galatasaray, who beat Sivasspor 3-1 as the Turkish League resumed following a three-week winter break.

Football was back in Belgium as well, but striker Enes Unal was an unused substitute in Genk’s 2-1 win over Waregem.

Teams in the Netherlands also resumed their campaigns after a winter hiatus, but City midfielder Jack Byrne could not prevent Cambuur from slipping to a 2-0 defeat at home to Vitesse Arnhem.

Thomas Agyepong came on for the last 10 minutes of FC Twente’s 4-0 victory over Heracles in the Eredivisie, but Divine Naah stayed on the bench for Breda’s 2-1 win over Volendam a league below in Eerste Divisie.
