Manuel Pellegrini has made three changes from the side that started the Capital One Cup final against Liverpool.

Joe Hart replaces Sunday’s spot-kick hero Willy Caballero in goal, while Jesus Navas come in for Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Bacary Sagna.

Starting XI and bench:

Hart, Zabaleta, Clichy, Kompany, Otamendi, Fernando, Fernandinho, Navas, Silva, Sterling, Aguero

Subs:  Caballero, Sagna, Demichelis, Kolarov, Bony, Iheanacho, Mangala

Tactics

Same again for the Blues, despite the tweaks in personnel. Yaya Toure’s exertions at the weekend earn him a well-earned rest, while Zabaleta continues where he left off on Sunday at right-back with Navas also continuing on the right.

Fernandinho will re-join compatriot Fernando in the midfield engine room after his successful spell on the right flank against Dynamo Kyiv and Liverpool.

Liverpool XI...

Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Flanagan, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Firmino, Origi

Subs: Ward, Skrtel, Moreno, Allen, Ibe, Coutinho, Benteke

Jurgen Klopp makes five changes from the team that began the Capital One Cup final. Notable absentees are Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho while Martin Skrtel returns on the bench.
