Join us as we take a look back to games and events from this date in City history...

1964

Bert Trautmann made his 545th - and final - appearance for City away to Preston North End. The big German had served the Blues with distinction for the best part of 15 years, but there was to be no fairytale ending to his career as the Lilywhites won 2-0 at Deepdale.

1975

Colin Bell and Rodney Marsh were the goalscorers as City edged out Middlesbrough 2-1 at Maine Road.

1984

Maine Road hosted the League Cup Final replay between Liverpool and Everton. In a classic match, watched by more than 50,000 Merseysiders, Liverpool ran out 1-0 winners, with a solitary Graeme Souness goal enough to send the Reds to Wembley.
