There are plenty of tired eyes among the City collective after an incredibly busy week here in New York, but as we board the plane for home, no one looks particularly pleased to be leaving!

Our time in the Big Apple and Saint Louis has been nothing short of incredible and the welcome we have received in both cities, simply outstanding.

It is hard to believe how much has been done in such a short space of time - two games in two cities, the birth of New York City FC, community visits to the five New York Boroughs and the launch of a new kit, to name but a few!

Both encounters with Chelsea proved to be thoroughly enjoyable spectacles and will surely give US football fans an appetite for the game, if it wasn’t already there.

There was absolutely no sesnse of a post-season warm down among the squad as they faced Chelsea for the second time in three days at the iconic Yankee Stadium.

On the contrary, the crowd was treated to a 5-3 thriller featuring some sensational goals and dazzling displays of football.

Supporters will of course have the opportunity to watch a City team on a more regular basis from 2015, when NYCFC are scehuled to enter the MLS.

The news certainly created a great buzz around the city and last night at Yankee Stadium (home of City's partner in this venture), we caught a glimpse of some of the club's first fans!

The whirlwind trip also saw the launch of the new home kit in downtown Manhattan, which made for some stunning photos of players donning the fresh attire. If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the behind the scenes gallery from the shoot and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

A jam packed week culminated with group visits to each of the five New York boroughs, where players surprised kids who were taking part in local soccer schools.

Community, as we know, is at the heart of Manchester City and so this seemed a fitting end to proceedings as the club sets out to strengthen its links with the city.

I think I speak for almost everyone when I say there was a reluctance to leave the concrete jungle behind, but we go home in the knowledge that there is so much to look forward to and be excited about in the months and years to come!
