But the cloak-and-dagger analogies are ramped up in The People, who claim that "Mark Hughes is reported to have flown to Munich last week on a top secret mission to convince Franck Ribery to sign for Manchester City."

The Telegraph and the Sunday Times say that City are looking for divine intervention - well, kind of. According to the two heavyweights, we're "reported" to be interested in Benfica's Angel di Maria. "Reported" by whom?

Some papers will stop at nothing to get a Michael Jackson story in these days, or so it seems, and the News of the World's Matthew Acton is claiming that Robinho is "doing a Jacko" by sleeping in an oxygen chamber in a bid to heal his injured ankle. Just beat it, Matthew.
