No fireworks on Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the fifth of November...but not much in the way of fireworks from the papers as far as City are concerned.

Of course they could not let a Champions League week go by without linking the Blues to one of the stars on show and this time it is a CSKA Moscow player who is apparently in the shop window.

It is the Mail in their ‘The Screamer’ column who have decided that Arsenal, Liverpool and City are all tracking the Russian’s winger Milos Krasic.

The Mail also informs its readers that the Blues will be one of the sides sporting a Remembrance Poppy on their shirt during the game against Burnley on Saturday.

That story though doesn’t nearly cover the recognition that will be built into the Burnley game at CoMs.

More than 100 tickets have been given out to servicemen, poppies will be on sale before the game and instead of the traditional minute’s silence a poem for the fallen will be read by the British Legion’s County Welfare Officer before the match.

We can also confirm that our shirts will later be auctioned off in aid of the British Legion. Keep your eyes on www.mcfc.co.uk for more details.
