Roberto's rage

You can tell the transfer window has closed, there's not so much incessant speculation on ins and outs, while the Monday papers are still poring over City's below-par display at the KC Stadium.
It was a performance that irritated Roberto Mancini, who managed to retain his composure - just - when facing the press afterwards, but the Sun's Rob Beasley could not help but notice the rage that was bubbling under.
"Mancini's demeanour was typically calm and relaxed, his voice quiet and controlled and there was even a half-smile on his face.
"But his eyes! Those windows to the soul told the true story. And they were blazing with anger. Mancini was mad, really mad. And no wonder after this abject display from City. The Tigers had roared and the wannabes whimpered."
The Independent goes along similar lines, but gives mention to one player who wasn't on Humberside on Saturday:
"Robinho wouldn't have relished this contest, that is for sure, but what is worrying Mancini more is the fact that some of the missing Brazilian's colleagues appear to have been infected by his lethargy when it comes to securing wins on the road."
Robinho's goal-scoring start in Brazil does not escape the attention of the Sun, under the headline of "Santos little helper" (groan - Ed.), while the same paper does manage to get some transfer talk under the radar, claiming that we are interested in Wrexham striker Leon Newell.
