There is not much Blues news to write home about in the English press this morning so we thought we would dip into the online world.

And winging in from the United Arab Emirates comes a story from Joanne Bladd, a correspondent on Arabian Business.Com.

She has been chatting to Fabio Capello at a Sports Awards Ceremony in Abu Dhabi and the Italian was full of praise for Sheikh Mansour’s ownership of the Blues.

“He [Sheikh Mansour] wants the first four. He’s changed [the club] a lot. The style is different. Now I think the team has more confidence that they can win against world teams,” praised Capello.

“They played against Chelsea very, very well in the second half. I think this was a really important game for all the players because to beat Chelsea away is not easy even for the best team in the world.”

Chelsea and City are also linked in a story by Duncan Wright in the Daily Star.

He tells his readers that England star Joe Cole will quit Chelsea on a free transfer this summer.

“Cole seems almost certain to join title rivals Manchester United after the Stamford Bridge club humiliated him with the offer of a one-year contract and a 40 per cent pay cut,” reckons the Star’s man before hedging his bets.

“Manchester City are willing to offer £80,000 a week, while Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is also interested in signing Cole.”
