With the 2011/12 season nearing its conclusion, many journalists have been speculating about who the Blues may add to their ranks during the summer.

As ever, City are scouring the planet looking for new talent to add to an already strong squad - at least according to the Sunday papers.

One name linked in a couple of stories is Spanish defender and international team-mate of David Silva, Jordi Alba.

The Daily Star on Sunday’s Paul Hetherington believes the Blues will face completion for the player in his piece: “Manchester’s big two are fighting it out for the title – and they could both be competing for Spanish left-back Jordi Alba this summer.

“Both United and City have been assessing Valencia’s Alba who is valued at £15m. Alba, 23, was released by Barcelona as a youngster but found his feet at the Mestalla before breaking into the national side last year.”

Meanwhile, The People’s ‘Hotline’ claim the Blues are also interested in bringing another La Liga talent to Manchester, reporting: “City have upped their spying missions on French youngster Antoine Griezmann.

“The France Under-21 winger has been turning heads at Real Sociedad this season and the club want around £23m for him. A number of teams are monitoring his progress – including Real Madrid.”

Finally, PSG are today linked with a possible move for Edin Dzeko – at least according to Duncan Castles in The Sunday Times who writes: “PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is interested in bringing either Dzeko or Luis Suarez to Ligue 1 as part of the Qatari-owned club’s strategy to establish themselves as a Champions League contenders.

“Dzeko, a £27m acquisition from Wolfsburg in January 2011, appears the more attainable. Manchester City have made the Bosnia international avilable after a frustrating season in which City manager Roberto Mancini has granted the 26-year-old just 16 Premier League starts.”

There will be plenty more of the same in the weeks ahead!
