City captain Vincent Kompany might have flown home from the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East to recover from a calf strain but he has revealed that he is targeting six titles– one for each year of his new contract with the Premier League champions.
“It was an obsession for us and myself, so I just hope we keep that going. You can walk around thinking you’re a winner but if you don’t train like a winner or do everything in your life to maintain being a winner, it just stops there,” said the inspirational City skipper, according to the Daily Express.
“So every day of my life I’m still obsessed by this moment, by the victory at the end of the season when we took the title. It’s what I want to have again.
I have signed a six-year deal, so there are six possible titles within those years. So you know what? I want to get them all. It probably won’t happen, but we’ll see in six years’ time.

Meanwhile, City legend and current Oldham Athletic boss Paul Dickov has previewed today’s friendly against the Blues on the Official Oldham website.
"This is the biggest test of our pre-season as they don't come any bigger than the Premier League champions,” said Dickov.
"I would expect some of their top players will feature so it will be a fantastic test for us, both fitness wise and tactically how we deal with them."
Finally, transfer talk concerning defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong has been dampened by the Dutch star in the Manchester Evening News, following rumours that he will join Bayern Munich.
“I don’t want to talk about that at the moment, it’s not in my mind – however, I’m playing football and I’m happy here,” said de Jong.
“I’m happy when I’m on the pitch and when I’m playing; football’s the most beautiful game in the world and you have to enjoy every moment.”
