Robin Van Persie’s dad has been speaking about his son’s possible move from Arsenal this summer.
In doing so, the striker’s father ruled out a move to Manchester City, or any other Premier League club.
The Arsenal frontman’s future has been hotly debated in recent weeks. He is yet to sign a new deal at the north London club and he has been closely linked with a move to The Blues.
However, Bob van Persie was quoted by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, saying,
It is impossible to go to another English team, Arsenal is in his heart.
...Bob Van Persie...
Meanwhile, van Persie’s Arsenal are rumoured to be lining up a move for City’s Nigel de Jong.
The Mirror reports that Arsene Wenger is looking to fill gaps in his midfield, after injuries to Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta.
International teammates de Jong and van Persie will put all of this speculation at the back of their minds for now though, as their Holland team kicks off its Euro 2012 campaign later.
The Dutch have had a rocky start to the campaign, with reports that some of their players were racially abused during training.
Coach Bert van Marwijk will be hoping the unfortunate turn of events will not affect his side as they take on Denmark in the Group B opener.
Finally, The Daily Mail reports that City boss Roberto Mancini is as fit as his players!
The paper pictures the 47-year-old looking very healthy and youthful while sunbathing on a beach in Sardinia.
