City striker David Silva says his teammate Andres Iniesta is the key man for Spain, as they prepare to face Portugal in the first semi-final of Euro 2012.
Speaking ahead of the much anticipated clash tonight, Silva said he ranks the Barcelona playmaker above both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,
“For me, the No.1 is Andres Iniesta, because he is my teammate for Spain and I can see that he is able to do even more difficult things on the pitch. Andres is magic with the ball and a great person, a big player for the team,” he told goal.com.
The City man also revealed La Roja are confident going into the game in Donetsk and feel that they are the team to beat,
“I think we showed against France that we’re together as a unit. I think opponents should fear us rather than us fear them. We are the key team in the semi-final.”
Away from Euro 2012, the Daily Mail reports that City’s John Guidetti is “dreaming,” of a move to Italian side Lazio.
The 20-year-old spent last season in Holland on loan to Feyenoord and won plenty of admirers after netting 20 goals in 23 league games.
“I cannot hide, I have spoken with Lazio about Guidetti because several Italian and European clubs like him,” the Swede’s agent Roberto De Fanti told cittaceleste.it.
“He is the best under-21 striker in Europe; he played well in a league where champions like (Ruud) Van Nistelrooy and (Marco) Van Basten found their limelight.”
Finally, the Daily Star reports that the Blues could move for Brazilian full-back Daniel Alves.
The speculation comes after reports that the 29-year-old fell out with Barcelona officials by playing in a friendly without permission.
This is the third summer running that Alves has been linked with the club, so it is hard to see that there is any real depth to this one and remember - we will be first to let you know of any transfers in or out of the club!
