With Sir Alex Ferguson and Rio Ferdinand (etcetera) seeming to concentrate more on what the Blues are doing than their own club, let’s swerve all the boring mind games stories this morning and concentrate on the headline City fans will really be interested in.

While the noises from across the city have a definite air of being somewhat rattled, the buoyant Blues are buzzing again and determined the title race will go to the wire.

So what better boost than to hear Sergio Aguero pledge his long-term future to City at such a vital time?

The hugely popular Argentinian has been linked in the Press with a close season move to Real Madrid, but those who know him at the Club have never believed that to be true, and the now the man himself has confirmed as much.

We’ll let The Sun’s Martin Blackburn take the lead on this in his story simply entitled, ‘I Stay’.

He writes: “The Spanish giants have been linked with a summer swoop for the £35million striker following his sensational first season in English football.

“But Aguero — who has 24 goals to his name already this term — says he plans on staying at the Etihad for the long term.

The Argentine ace wants to mark his first year with a Premier League title medal and hopes it will be the first of many in a sky-blue shirt

“City's top scorer said: ‘None of the stories about Real Madrid have come from me and the City fans can rest assured I am happy here.

‘First and foremost, the major aim is to win the league title this season. Then I want to stay here for a long time after that. I'm very, very happy here. From the moment I arrived, everyone has treated me really well.

‘It's down to me to repay that kindness and good feeling I've had from everyone with some performances out on the field.’”

And with Sergio revealing that he loves the city, fans and being a Blue in our exclusive CityTV interview after the 2-1 win over Chelsea, it looks like Kun will be around for a long time, yet.
