If you believe what you read this morning, then there is set to be more traffic between City and the Spanish capital of Madrid in the months to come, with a new transfer rumour that includes both Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.
An alleged interest in striker Gonzalo Higuain of Real Madrid has started to crop up in the media of late, and both of our current Argentine hit-men are linked to "going the other way" while their French-born fellow countryman heads for Manchester.
Tevez is hoping to prove his fitness and get back into the Manchester City side following his infamous bust-up with Mancini. But the City boss remains determined to sell the Argentine rebel in the summer and wants Higuain to fill his boots.
Delve a bit deeper and the real nuggets presents itself - Aguero is said to be admired by the Spanish aristocrats, no shock in itself given his sparkling form in his first season in the EPL.
"Real are keen to do a deal with the Blues that would see them offer Higuain and around £6m in exchange for Sergio Aguero.
"But Mancini has made it clear Aguero is going nowhere and is convinced he can still land Higuain with a bid of around £36m. He could even offer Tevez as part of a possible swap deal and knows the Argentine will be desperate to get back in the shop window."
Sergio is not the only in-form City striker of course, John Guidetti has been ripping it up for Feyenoord and insidefutbol.com reckon he is being looked at from further afield.
"Guidetti's talent has been well signposted, with Rubin Kazan taking note and already planning the shape of their squad for next season, when the Russian league switches to a traditional autumn-spring calendar.
"What Guidetti's future at Eastlands might be once his loan spell finishes remains unclear, with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini having a glittering array of top class strikers to choose from.
"This has encouraged Rubin Kazan, who are set to sound out the Citizens over the possibility of acquiring Guidetti."
There's even debate and discussion over what is sure to be an exciting climax to the season, with another seismic Manchester derby looming on 30 April. It's still nearly two months away but Sir Alex Ferguson is quoted on Football365 and elsewhere on the big one:
"More and more it seems that crunch confrontation between the reds and the blues at the Etihad Stadium on Monday, April 30 will decide everything.
"Even Ferguson does not disagree.
"'It does look that way," he said. "'It is going to be a massive game because you can't see City dropping a lot of points and you can't see us dropping a lot of points either.
"'We are getting into consistent form now so it does point to that game.'"
Talk about understatement...
