Samir Nasri has told French reporters that France are outsiders to top Group D in Euro 2012.

Euro 2012 is on the horizon and City’s galaxy of international stars are scattering across the continent to prepare for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Perhaps Samir Nasri has been studying Roberto Mancini’s press conferences as he informed French reporters that his country are “outsiders” to top Group D - according to Sky Sports.

France kick off their quest to repeat their 2000 triumph when they take on England in Donetsk on June 11.

"We are outsiders, the English are the favourites for the group," Nasri said, presumably with a wry smile and a shrugging of shoulders,

"We are a young team lacking experience in this kind of competition. This is an open group for me.

"England have young players like (Danny) Welbeck, but also like Wayne Rooney, who will miss the first game. This is a good thing for us."

Elsewhere, the Manchester Evening News tells us that one City fan is still recovering from last Sunday after he broke his wrist while celebrating Sergio Aguero’s winner. Daniel Linton didn’t let it spoil his fun though,

"I don’t really know what happened. It went a bit delirious and I ended up on my knees. People were going flying in all directions – I think the guy sat behind me may have knocked it."

"I felt the pain but at the time I think the adrenalin of the day kicked in. We went out celebrating but when I woke up on Monday the pain was still there. I was busy all day so I went to A & E on Tuesday.

"They did an X-ray and confirmed I’d broken it. The lady who treated me was a United fan – she thought it was quite funny!

"I was hoping for a sky-blue cast but she gave me a white one."

Never mind, Daniel, I’m sure you can invest in some felt tips.
