Roberto Mancini is said to be discussing a new contract with City on what looks to be a quieter-than-average day on the Blues news front.
Chelsea's Champions League win still dominates the news agenda, and rightly so, but digging around there are a few City snippets around with the speculation over the boss the biggest.
"...Sportsmail can reveal that City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak finally sat down with Mancini for talks in Abu Dhabi on Friday afternoon and those discussions continued throughout the weekend.
"City want to reward the Italian with a new three-year deal worth £5m a year. That represents a significant improvement on the £3.5m contract Mancini signed when he arrived at the club two-and-a-half years ago."
Following on from a rare WTMS appearance on Sunday, Brian Kidd pops up again. We'll take a gander at goal.com's version, which features the respected coach's unhappiness at the "cheap shots" aimed at City over recent months.
The people who question the spirit here are outsiders. They just don't know.
...Brian Kidd on team spirit
"If you see them supporting one another on matchdays and in training, nobody would be questioning the camaraderie.
"But if there was any doubt you only had to see it against QPR [the 3-2 win to clinch the title] to answer that." 'Nuff said, Brian.
But the really big news is that the title win has, allegedly, got the Gallagher brothers talking again. When we say talking, we mean texting, but you get the drift.
Oasis fan site stopcryingyourheartout.com picks up on speculation that Noel and Liam have been reconciled by what happened at the Etihad Stadium just over a week ago.
"Almost three years since the end of Oasis, feuding brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are in 'friendly text contact' thanks to Manchester City winning the Premier League.
“'They were both over the moon when City won and messages were exchanged,' says a mutual pal. 'It took something like that to break the ice and they’ve also been in touch since by text.'” Glad to be of service!
