It is hard to escape the on-going Ajax analysis, but there is some evidence that just like the players, the press are leaving that disappointing result behind.

Roberto Mancini and his men will be looking to get back on track when Swansea visit the Etihad Stadium in today’s late kick-off, but the Italian is not taking anything for granted.

"Swansea are a good team, they had a fantastic season last year when they played very well,” claimed Mancini.

"This season things have changed a bit, but they still play very well.

"I think it will be a difficult game like all the games we have here.

I don't think we have any easy games, every game is difficult for different reasons.

Elsewhere this morning, according to Football Italia, the Blues have their eye on Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic as well as two Serie B youngsters.

“Manchester City talent scout Angelo Gregucci was in the stands of Friday’s 1-0 Sassuolo victory over Juve Stabia to watch Gaetano Berardi - who scored the winner - and teammate Richmond Boakye,” the website reports.

Gregucci said: “’Jovetic is on our list, we cannot deny it.’

‘He is a great player, but after that I don’t know if he will wear the Manchester City jersey or not, as I am not the one to ask.

‘I can only reply that City’s interest is concrete and we cannot hide ourselves in that respect.’”
