City’s number one summer transfer target looks poised to sign for Paris Saint-Germain if this morning’s reports are anything to go by.

The latest update on Edinson Cavani follows news we brought you just yesterday that the Blues were prepared to make the Uruguayan striker the best paid player in the Premier League.

“Roberto Mancini was left reeling last night when it emerged Edinson Cavani is set to snub Manchester City and join Paris Saint Germain instead,” writes Jeremy Cross of The Star.

“Mancini has made the Napoli hit-man his No.1 summer targetand is desperate to lure him to the Etihad Stadium in a £55m deal.

“But 24 hours after losing his Premier League crown to United, Mancini was dealt another crushing blow when his plans for next season were ripped apart by the French club.

Starsport understands PSG sporting director Leonardo has held several meetings with 26-year-old Cavani’s representatives.

“And it looks to have worked, with Cavani telling the French billionaires that Paris is his preferred destination for next season.”

Elsewhere, Mark Ogden and John Percy of The Telegraph believe the Blues will face a tough battle to keep hold of striker Sergio Aguero.

“City are determined to resist attempts to lure Agüero away from the club, with the former Atlético Madrid striker just two years into a five-year deal at the Etihad,” they write.

“Real president Florentino Pérez is determined to add Agüero to his squad and secure a new contract at the Bernabéu for Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Well, we'll see about that!

Remember, we here at mcfc.co.uk will be first to confirm any movements in or out of the club this summer!
