Thirteen days into the transfer window and, like a game of poker, Premier League managers continue to keep their cards close to their chest.
There has been the odd deal but nothing major and indications are, at present, that a flurry of business could be conducted towards the end of the month.
Will City be involved? Roberto Mancini has, correctly, pointed out that because he is missing several key players for one reason or another, he can’t afford to let anyone go.
However, speculation in the Press continues unabated with Edin Dzeko quoted as saying he is unsure about his future with the Blues.
The Bosnian striker suggests things could still happen quickly in a story originating in the Sunday Mirror, but picked up by ESPN.com.
"Anything is possible," said Dzeko. "I wouldn't rule out leaving now or in the summer, but I'm trying not to think about it.
"It is up to me to try to use the opportunities I am being given at City - everything else is beyond my powers at the moment. Honestly, I'm not thinking about specific clubs now, but I would like to return to Germany. “
Meanwhile Sky Sports link City with South Korea international Yun Suk-Young, who is believed to be ready to move to Europe if the right offer comes along this January.
Report Sky: “The Chunnam Dragons star was recently linked to a number of clubs including AC Milan, Tottenham and Manchester City after impressing in South Korea's bronze medal run at the 2012 London Olympics.
“Despite intense speculation that he could be moving abroad this transfer window, no formal approach for the left-back's services has been made as yet.”
There is plenty of loan interest in some of the Blues’ fringe stars with John Guidetti topping the list. The young Swede is back in full training and will need regular games so watch this space on this story, though caughtoffside.com write:
“Manchester City striker Guidetti is set to leave the club on loan this month with West Ham and Southampton leading the race for his signature.
“The 20-year-old Swedish international has yet to feature for City this season, but proved his goal-scoring talent last year when impressing during a season-long loan at Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord.”
