Like the Manchester weather, transfer speculation shows no sign of cooling down.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the latest in an ever-growing list of names to be linked with the Blues, according to The Daily Star this morning.

The paper's report claims that the Swedish striker could be on his way to the Premier League, with City set to go up against Chelsea for his signature.

“The Swedish star, 31, has fallen out with new Paris St-Germain boss Laurent Blanc over the signing of Edinson Cavani,” explains Jack Wilson.

“PSG will shell out £54m for the hit-man and hand him a bumper contract - and Ibrahimovic isn't happy.

“It now appears that he may quit the French giants, despite Blanc being in the job just three weeks.

“StarSport revealed back in May that Ibrahimovic was pondering a move away from Paris and the latest Cavani rumblings may prove the tipping point.

“Ibrahimovic, who has hinted that he'd be open to a move to England, picks up a bumper wage of more than £11m a year at PSG.”

Elsewhere, the Daily Mail claims that the Blues have now agreed a fee with Fiorentina for striker Stevan Jovetic.

The Montenegro international has been repeatedly linked with City this summer, but the paper’s Chris Wheeler reckons the move could be finally set to reach a conclusion.

He reports:  “City have been in talks with Fiorentina over Jovetic for some time, but it is understood the two clubs have finally agreed an initial fee of £23m that could rise by £5m in bonus payments.

“Fiorentina have previously stipulated that they would not sell the Montenegro international, 23, for less than the £28m buyout clause in his contract.

“City still hope to sign Negredo as well but have been unable to reach a compromise deal over the Spain striker amid concerns that Sevilla are trying to ramp up the price beyond £20m.”

Finally, City are set to reject any move for defender Aleks Kolarov from Juventus or Inter Milan – according to the Daily Star.

It has been widely reported that the Serbian left back has caught the eye of both Italian clubs, but City are said to be keen to hang on to him.

Writes Graham Chase: “The Serie A giants are eyeing the Serbia star, 27, who has fallen behind Gael Clichy in the pecking order at the Etihad.

“Kolarov, who joined City for £16m from Lazio in 2010, is keen to leave in search of regular football.

“But City want to keep him on board under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.”

That’s about it for today, but we’ll be back with more transfer speculation tomorrow morning. Remember, any confirmed deals will appear on mcfc.co.uk first!
