Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure – two of City’s biggest stars and continually productive players – are both in the headlines today

But fear not – the fan favourites are not being linked with a return to Spain for once – moreover, both have pledged their future to the Blues which (you’d like to think) will dampen the relentless rumours to the contrary.

Let’s start with the Daily Mirror and David McDonnell who writes: “Aguero says he has no intention of leaving Manchester City - despite being linked with Real Madrid.

“Real are reported to have offered winger Isco for Aguero in a player-plus-cash deal, although City have no interest in letting their top scorer go.

“Aguero has 13 goals for City this season, his impressive form earning him the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month award for October.

“Although Aguero's estranged wife lives in Madrid with their son, the striker said he is happy at City and has no desire to turn his back on Manchester.

“And the 25-year-old believes his career and development as a player is best served by staying in the Premier League with City.

‘The truth is that I'm happy,’ said Aguero. ‘The club treats me very well. It's very calm - it's different to being in Spain or Argentina.

I've always said that in every match, watching or training, you learn things. It's like in any job, you know what to do or not to do

...Sergio Aguero...

‘The same happens on the pitch. You think where you have to attack, where you feel comfortable inside the area. It's like you read where you can make the centre-backs feel uncomfortable.

‘You're always improving. English football, for example, being so fast, it allows you

to develop your concentration and refine your technique. So every day you're learning and I feel that I still have plenty to learn.

‘The only thing I do is enjoy football, rest, be at home and then go out or walk around or eat in peace.

‘For a player or anybody who is well-known, it's good not to be afraid of the madness because later, when it's time to play, it's important to have a clear head.’”

And there’s more good news. Yaya Toure has followed his team-mate by revealing he has no intention of moving on anytime soon.

Kingsley Kobo on Goal.com writes: “Yaya Toure has refuted rumours of his departure from Etihad Stadium next January

“Manchester City star Yaya Toure has described as baseless reports linking him to a possible move away from his current club, declaring he would continue plying his trade at Etihad Stadium as long as possible.

“Speaking to Paris-based television Africa24 on Thursday, the Cote D’Ivoire international cited trust from The Citizens’ new coach Manuel Pellegrini and love from fans as strong reasons not to contemplate any departure for the time being.

‘It’s true Manchester City are not doing too fine at the moment in the Premier League. There have been good and bad times for us this season, but I think I have every reason to remain here,’ Toure said.

‘I have the trust of my coach that is why I’m vice-captain and the fans love me. They keep chanting for me and singing my name. I’ll stay here as long as possible because I’m happy with the people and the atmosphere,” he said.
