Turkish outfit Trabzonspor have entered talks with City over a loan move for John Guidetti, according to turkish-football.com.
The Swedish international, who missed all of last season due to illness, faces stiff competition for a place in the first team with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic all vying for places up front.
“Trabzonspor would be able to sign Guidetti under the new Turkish Football Federation (TFF) ruling which permits 10 foreign players per-club in the 2013-14 season.
“The Turkish Süper Lig outfit currently have nine non-Turkish players on their books.
“Guidetti scored 20 goals and made 8 assists in 23 games for Feyenoord over the 2011-12 season. Guidetti has two years left on his contract at City.”
Elsewhere this morning, Bleacher Report have put together an interesting article as to why they feel David Silva is thriving under his new manager.
“It was somewhat fitting, then, that City's first league goal this season was scored in the sixth minute against Newcastle United by one of Mancini's prime movers, David Silva,” writes Phil Keidel.
“After a rather ragged 2012-13 effort—four goals and eight assists as against six goals and 15 assists in 2011-12—Silva seems rejuvenated under Pellegrini.”
